Life at Scio
Software engineering careers built to compound.
Work with U.S. projects. Grow with people who invest in you. Stay because you want to, not because you are stuck.
WHAT DO WE DO
The work itself.
Scio engineers build product for U.S. software companies. Not tickets. Not maintenance queues someone else designed. This is not a body shop. Scioneers own outcomes, which means you are expected to push back when the requirement is wrong.
Technologies we work with include Java, .NET, React, Node.js, Angular, Python, iOS, Android, AWS, Azure, GCP, SQL, Ruby, Golang, TypeScript, Vue.js, Kotlin, C++, Flutter, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Next.js, Nuxt.js, PHP, Svelte, Redis, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, GraphQL, Elixir, and Spring Boot.

A course series on communication, process and team habits, open to everyone regardless of position. Interactive, not lecture.
Certification and Event Funding
Scio covers relevant certifications, courses, and industry events, local or international. The credential is yours whether you stay or not.
Language Program
A permanent program plus soft skills workshops. This is not optional polish, it is the thing that widens what you can do next.

faq
Questions we get on the first call.
Straight answers, no marketing varnish. If you have something more specific in mind, schedule a call and we'll spend thirty minutes on it.
Do Scio engineers work directly with US Clients?
Yes, directly. You join a dedicated team embedded with one U.S. client, you attend their standups, and you talk to them without an account manager translating your questions into someone else’s words. Scio engineers own outcomes, which means you are expected to push back when a requirement is wrong.
Is the work hybrid, remote or in-office?
Work at Scio is hybrid by choice: you can work from home and come into the office when you want to. The offices are in Morelia, a city with strong connections to the rest of the country and a real cost-benefit advantage on quality of life. Flex time applies too, so you start and end your day at the times that work for you, as long as your commitments and team coordination are covered.
What growth path exists for a senior engineer who does not want to become a manager?
Growth at Scio does not require a management title. A senior engineer can grow as a Sensei, mentoring another engineer through the Sensei Creati program, and through the Scio Leadership Program, which treats leadership as a skill anyone can build regardless of position. It runs every six months and is open to everyone. Certification and event funding also applies at every level.
What is the English requirement, and does Scio help you improve it?
You work directly with U.S. product teams, so working English is part of the job, and Scio invests in it rather than just requiring it. There is a permanent language program plus soft skills workshops, because communication is treated as a performance skill, not office polish.
What does the Sensei Creati program ask of a participant?
Sensei Creati pairs you with a Sensei, a partner who has done the thing you are trying to learn, in a coaching and mentoring relationship built on collaborative learning and honest reflection. As a Creati you bring curiosity and follow-through; as a Sensei you share knowledge, tools, and the technical and soft skills that made you effective. Every Creati can eventually become a Sensei.
